Buying a membership in the Clear Lake Fencing Club entitles you to fence during any open fencing session throughout the membership year, August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013 and to borrow equipment for use at the club as needed and as available. Club members also get a discounted rate from the club armorer, as available. Members vote in the annual club meetings (only one member from a family membership can cast a vote in each election). Membership can be paid for the full year (at a discount) or monthly. For those joining the club after August 2012, the membership will be prorated by 1/12 (rounded up) for each month passed. This contract requires that all monthly payments be made even if you miss a month or more of fencing. If you fall behind, there will be a 10% late fee and membership will be suspended until payments are up to date. Monthly membership fees are due on the first of each month with a one month grace period before late fees are assessed.
The current schedule for open fencing is 5 evenings a week:
Monday: 8:30 – 10:30 pm
Tuesday: 8:00 – 10:30 pm
Wednesday: 8:30 – 10:30 pm (specifically Epee)
Thursday: 8:00 – 10:30 pm (specifically Foil)
Friday: 8:00 – 10:30 pm (you’re more likely to find Sabre fencing on Fridays than any other night)
For the 2012/2013 membership year, the rates are:
Individual: $162 or $15/month
Club student or college student: $81 or $7.50/month
Family Membership: $270 or $25/month
